An image display device and an HDMI-CEC method for setting up a function for a connected external device are provided to prevent the malfunction according to the HEMI-CEC function by opening the additional HDIM-CEC function. An external devices information display area(310) displays the information of an external device. The information of the external device connected on the menu screen(300) on the external devices information display area is indicated. An operation setting area especially sets up the on/off of the corresponding HDMI-CEC function with the external device. |
