An authentication renewal method of a high density optical disc is provided to block illegal copy fundamentally by descrambling data of a high density optical disc through updated CP authentication key. An authentication renewal method of a high density optical disc comprises: a step processing MPEG to only primary data and outputting the data in case high density optical disc is inserted; a step(S215) scrambling the data of the high density optical disc in case the term of validity of the inserted high density optical disc is expired and outputting CP authentication key update message for copy protection authentication key renewal guideline; a step(S223) requesting the CP authentication key update information to an authentication key renewal server for the CP authentication key renewal by being connected to the authentication key renewal server through network; and a step(S227) descrambling the data of the high density optical disc by using updated CP authentication key corresponding to the request.
