METHOD FOR CONTROLLING DEFROST IN REFRIGERATOR

A method for controlling defrosting of a refrigerator is provided to reduce power consumption by performing a defrosting process of the refrigerator after considering a state of the refrigerator. A method for controlling defrosting of a refrigerator includes the following steps of: measuring the number of opening of a door through a door opening detection sensor(S201); integrating the total driving time of a compressor(S202); confirming a number of opening of the door based on reference count(S203); determining the total time of the compressor when the number opening of the door is reached to the reference count(S204); and performing a defrosting process when the total time of the compressor is 90% or greater(S205).
