A photoresist resin composition for a color filter, and a color filter using it are provided to allow the ultra-fine pixel to be manufactured by using a pigment and a dye. A photoresist resin composition for a color filter comprises an alkali soluble resin; a photopolymerizable monomer; a photopolymerization initiator,; a colorant; and a solvent, wherein the colorant comprises a pigment and a dye represented by the formula 1. Preferably the dye represented by the formula 1 is a merocyanine-based compound.
