A liquid crystal display and a driving method thereof are provided to increase the picture quality by cutting down the fall time of the scan pulses. A liquid crystal display comprises a gate driver(GD), a clock generator(222), and switching elements. Scan pulses are created by the gate driver. The gate driver partly superposes scan pulses and supplies the scan pulses to one side of the gate lines. Clock pulses are created by the clock generator. The clock generator partly superposes the clock pulses and outputs the clock pulses. The switching element is arranged in the gate lines(GLn). The switching element of the n number gate line has the control terminal, and the first connection terminal and the second connect terminal. The control terminal is connected to the n+1 number gate line. The first connection terminal is connected to the other side of the n number gate line. The second connection terminal receives one clock pulse selected from the clock generator.
