An organometallic complex compound is provided to ensure excellent solubility by introducing a benzimidazole-based compound having a bulky stereostructure as a ligand of the organometallic complex compound. A metal complex compound for an organic photoelectric device is represented by chemical formula 1 and comprises a benzimidazole derivative ligand. The organic photoelectric device comprises an organic thin film layer positioned between a pair of electrodes. The organic thin film layer comprises a metalorganic compound. The organic thin film layer comprises a light emitting layer including an organometallic complex compound as a dopant.
