A liquid crystal display and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to reduce the number of mask usage times, thereby improving production yield. Semiconductor layers(113a,113b) are located between color filters(114). A source(116a) and a drain(116b) are contacted with the semiconductor layer. The semiconductor layer is formed in an island shape. Off-current due to a tail of the semiconductor layer or an active tail and defect of wave noise thereof are prevented by the semiconductor of the island shape. According as a tail is removed, improved aperture effect is obtained. |
