An in plane switching mode liquid crystal display device and a method of manufacturing the same are provided to reduce light leakage of a diagonal direction by 75% in a dark state, thereby improving contrast of a diagonal viewing angle. An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) panel comprises an array substrate(101a), a color filter substrate(101b) and a liquid crystal layer(180) formed between the array substrate and the color filter substrate. The liquid crystal layer is classified into the first liquid crystal layer(180a) and the second liquid crystal layer(180b). A pre-tilt angle of an alignment film of upper and lower parts is adjusted by making the first and second liquid crystal layers opposite each other. The LCD panel has an alignment direction of an anti-parallel structure to compensate for light leakage in a diagonal direction. |
