A method of manufacturing a color filter on TFT type array substrate for an in-plane switching mode liquid crystal display device is provided to remove a semiconductor pattern exposed to the outside of a data line, thereby preventing poor image quality such as wavy noise. An organic insulating substance is coated on the second protective layer(175), a plurality of pixel electrodes(178), a central common electrode(179), and a sub common electrode(180) to form an organic insulating substance layer. An array substrate(101) is made by patterning the organic insulating substance layer. An active layer(124) of an island type is completely overlapped with a gate electrode(111) in a lower part of source and drain electrodes(154,156) of a dual layer structure.
