PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a letterpress for pattern formation, which has at least resin-made projection portions and a base for supporting the projection portions, such that water-insoluble solvent ink and water ink can be printed with the same resin plate material and impurity leakage from the resin plate material to an organic layer is prevented. SOLUTION: Disclosed is the letterpress for pattern formation characterized in that a protective layer 205 is provided by a vacuum thin-film forming method to resin-made projection portions 201 of the letterpress 200 for pattern formation, wherein: the protective film is a mixed thin film of an organic substance and an inorganic substance; and the vacuum thin-film forming method is a chemical vapor deposition method.
