PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of offset write in a disk of a large decentering amount. SOLUTION: Before recording processing, the number of times of overiding tracks is counted, and a decentering amount change rate R in a predetermined section is calculated for each rotational phase to be stored in a memory. When a flaw is detected during the recording processing, a predicted decentering amount in the section of the flaw is calculated from the decentering amount change rate stored in the memory for each rotational phase. When the predicted decentering amount is equal to or more than a threshold decentering amount, a recording operation is stopped to quickly prevent overwriting of data caused by irradiation of an optical beam emitted from an objective lens to a data-recorded adjacent track.
