PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass sheet cutting method which can use a conventional cutter without necessitating any specially shaped cutter and is excellent also in workability. SOLUTION: A glass sheet 100 is mounted on the spherical glass sheet mount surface 2 of a glass suction and support table 1, the glass sheet 100 is attracted and sucked on the glass sheet mount surface 2 by vacuum-drawing the glass sheet suction and support table 1 to elastically deform the glass sheet 100 into a spherical surface, a cut line 101 is formed on the surface of the glass sheet 100 with a cutter 10 so as to draw a closed curve, the glass sheet 100 is then removed from the table 1, the glass sheet 100 is restored into the original flat sheet, its surface with the slanted cut line is heated to deform the glass sheet 100, this deformation allows the cut line 101 to propagate in the direction of the thickness of the glass sheet till it reaches the opposite surface, and the part confined by the closed curve is separated.
