The present invention relates human papilloma virus (HPV), more specific cutaneous, beta-PV. A method is disclosed for typing of any beta-PV nucleic acid with at least one probe capable of specific hybridization within the A region of beta-PV, said region being indicated in FIG. 1, and then analyzing beta-PV type(s) based upon the hybridization result so obtained.
