LIVER CELL CANCER MARKER AND METHOD OF EXAMINING LIVER CELL CANCER

The purpose of this object is to provide a novel liver cell cancer marker for determining the prognosis of liver cell cancer and a method of examining liver cell cancer using this marker. By focusing on EB1 (End-binding protein 1), studies are made on the relationship between EB1 and the prognosis of liver cell cancer patients. As a result, it is confirmed that EB1-positive patients show a significantly lower 5 years survival rate than EB1-negative patients. Thus, it is found out that EB1 is possibly usable as a significant cancer maker to be used for determining the prognosis of liver cell cancer. By detecting or quantifying EB1 in a liver cell cancer, the prognosis of liver cell cancer can be determined. EB1 can be detected or quantified by an immunological technique.
