Disclosed is a method for producing an adhesive composition for organic fiber cords, which is characterized in that a liquid mixture containing (A) resorcin and/or a resorcin-formaldehyde resin, (B) an initial condensation product of formaldehyde and a compound other than resorcin which forms a thermosetting resin when reacted with formaldehyde, (C) a latex and (E) a catalyst is aged, and then (D) an aqueous isocyanate solution and/or an epoxy compound is added to the aged liquid. Also disclosed are an adhesive composition for organic fiber cords which is obtained by the method, and a method for producing a rubber product. The method does not use formaldehyde by itself, and enables production of an adhesive composition for organic fiber cords which exhibits sufficient adhesion to polyester fiber cords and aramid fiber cords which are difficult to be bonded.
