<p>The carrier has a set of magnetizable sections (14, 16) alternating in a measuring direction (22), and a set of carrier elements (10, 12), on which the magnetizable sections of same magnetization are spaced from each other. The magnetizable sections (14) of the carrier element (10) lie in gaps of the magnetizable sections (16) of the carrier element (12), and the adjacent magnetizable sections of the carrier elements exhibit different magnetic polarities in the measuring direction (22).
