<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell with dead space reduced when providing a sensor at a gas flow channel of a separator. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell includes a separator which includes a flow channel 30a formed for supplying at least one of either hydrogen-containing gas or oxygen-containing gas to an MEA, and a parting rib 30b wider than ribs partitioning the flow channel 30a, and a sensor 40 is provided at the parting rib 30b. The parting rib includes a cavity on an opposite side face with the flow channel of the separator provided.
