PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a periodically poled structure excellent over a wide range when forming the periodically poled structure in a ferroelectric single-crystal substrate; and to prevent the ferroelectric single-crystal substrate from being cracked due to thermal damage. SOLUTION: A method for producing the periodically poled part comprises the steps of: arranging a periodic electrode 20 on one principal surface 1a of the single-domained ferroelectric single-crystal substrate 1; arranging a uniform electrode 6 on the other principal surface 1b of the ferroelectric single-crystal substrate 1; arranging a first electrically-conductive film 12 on one principal surface 11a of a dielectric substrate 11; arranging a second electrically-conductive film 13 on the other principal surface 11b of the dielectric substrate; electrically connecting the uniform electrode 6 to the first electrically-conductive film 12; and applying a voltage between the periodic electrode 20 and the second electrically-conductive film 13 in such a state that the temperature of the ferroelectric single-crystal substrate 1 is higher than that of the dielectric substrate 11 to form the periodically poled part on the ferroelectric single-crystal substrate 1.
