PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller for a footboard which is easily assembled and capable of allowing any abnormality of a rail to be easily checked, and a passenger conveyor having the same. SOLUTION: The roller for the passenger conveyor footboard of comprises a bearing 7 in which a shaft for the roller of the footboard 1 of the passenger conveyor is inserted, and a resin part for forming a tire 6 sliding with respect to a rail for the roller. A metal part 8 is provided aside the bearing 7, and the metal part 8 and the bearing 7 are supported by the resin part. Thus, the tire 6 and the bearing 7 or the like are integrated with each other, and the bearing or the like need not be fixed by a stop ring like a conventional practice. The number of components is small, and the structure is simplified. Further, even when deformation or the like of the rail for the roller occurs, any abnormality can be detected by a simple method by using the contact sound of metals of the rail for the roller and the metal part 8.
