<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for automatically generating an upper limit mask or lower limit mask of a frequency domain for a selected input signal. <P>SOLUTION: In this method, by converting a frequency/amplitude unit into a pixel unit of a pixel map to generate a reduced waveform, frequency domain data indicating selected input signal are reduced so as to fit in the pixel map. By employing frequency offset selected by a user to draw the reduced waveform within the pixel map a blurred waveform is generated. By selecting a data point for a mask from the blurred waveform, the data point from the pixel map is converted into the frequency/amplitude unit to generate the mask.
