PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cover member for an operation switch capable of surely performing contact-handling and easily thinning and easily emitting sufficient light from its surface side. SOLUTION: The cover member for an operation switch includes a surface operation section 17 having an operation surface 15 capable of performing a contact-operation on a frond side, an electrostatic capacity detection section 21 capable of detecting the contact-operation of the surface operation section 17 at a back side of the surface operation section 17 as a variation of electrostatic capacity, and a lighting section 19 capable of lighting the surface operation section 17 from the back side. The light emitted from the lighting section 19 is emitted to the surface side transmitting through the surface operation section 17, and the lighting section 19 is laminated by arranging between the surface operation section 17 and the electrostatic capacity detection section 21.
