PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning tool for a plughole, safely cleaning and cleaning up an inner circumferential face of a plughole C, used in a diesel engine A having a plug mounting hole B for installing a glow plug and a plughole C in which a heater part of the glow plug contiguous from the plug mounting hole B to the combustion chamber D passes. SOLUTION: The cleaning tool 4 for the plughole comprises: a bar-like tool body 5 longer than at least the sum of the length of the plug mounting hole B and the length of the plughole C; a non-columnar cleaning part 6 rotatable while being abutted to the inner circumferential face of the plughole C, and formed at a portion which can be inserted into the plughole C of the tool body 5; a rotation operation part 7 formed at an end part on a side opposed to the cleaning part 6 of the tool body 5 and allowing rotation of the cleaning part 6; and a falling preventive part 8 disposed integrally with or near the rotation operation part 7 and having a shape to prevent entry into the plug mounting hole B.
