METHOD FOR PRODUCING PAPER STRING FOR HANDICRAFT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easily workable handicraft material produced by using a paper string base paper tape made of a machine-made Japanese paper as a substitute for cane and vine and giving a handicraft product having durability and shape-retaining property. SOLUTION: A water-repelling tape 5 is produced by forming a paper string base paper tape with a machine-made Japanese paper having a thickness of 12-80 g/m2and applying a water-repelling work to the front and back faces of the base paper, and the water-repelling tape is twisted using a twisting machine 8 to obtain the paper string for handicraft.
