A composite hydrophilic water stop and a waterproofing method for culvert using the same are provided to seal the gap between culverts effectively through the physical and chemical expansion, thereby blocking the inflow of water completely. A composite hydrophilic water stop(100) comprises a hydrophilic outer surface layer(120) which is arranged along a concrete precast structure, that is, the joint of culvert, is closed to form a hollow inside space, and is made of hydrophilic material; and a physical expansion element(150) which is arranged in the hollow inside space of the hydrophilic outer surface layer and includes blocks(160,170) which are joined at an angle to increase the total joint thickness(T) physically. |
