摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve efficiency by reducing a mechanical stress applied on the cell when stacking electrochemical cells of ceramic and improving utilization efficiency of gas as swell as reducing current loss. <P>SOLUTION: An electrochemical device includes a plurality of electrochemical cells 1 and an interconnector 11. The electrochemical cell 1 includes a built-in gas passage to flow a first gas and includes a first electrode in contact with the first gas, a solid electrolyte layer, a second electrode which is exposed to the outside surface of the electrochemical cell and is in contact with a second gas, and a conduction part 5 which is in electrical conduction with the first electrode. The interconnector 11 includes a housing part to house a part of the electrochemical cells 1 and a connecting part 12 projecting from the housing part. A second gas passage is formed between the housing part and the cells 1. The second gas is in contact with the second electrode when it passes through the passage.
