摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cool an ultraviolet lamp substantially uniformly over the longitudinal direction. <P>SOLUTION: The ultraviolet irradiation device 1 includes a lamp storage box 4 for storing the straight tube type ultraviolet lamp 2 and a reflecting plate 12 for reflecting ultraviolet light from the ultraviolet lamp 2, wherein the ultraviolet light is delivered from the ultraviolet lamp 2 and the reflecting plate 12 through a light transmissive window 23 as an irradiation window provided in the lamp storage box 4. The lamp storage box 4 has a plurality of cooling air inlets 88 on both sides across the ultraviolet lamp 2 and the reflecting plate 12 along the longitudinal direction of the ultraviolet lamp 2. Each cooling air inlet 88 on one side of the ultraviolet lamp 2 and each cooling air inlet 88 on the other side are connected to mutually different air guide tubes 80, respectively.
