<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing device 1 for sealing the circumference of a shaft or the like in a portion likely to be exposed to muddy water or the like coming from the outside A, which prevents muddy water or the like from entering a sliding part S<SB>1</SB>of an oil seal lip 13 as much as possible. <P>SOLUTION: The sealing device 1 is equipped with an oil seal 10 mounted on the inner peripheral surface of an opening end 2a of a non-rotating housing 2 and with a slinger 20 mounted on a rotor 5 inserted into the housing 2 so as to be located on the axial outside of the oil seal 10. The oil seal 10 is formed integrally with a metal reinforcement ring 11 by a rubber-like elastic material and provided with an oil seal lip 13 slidably brought into intimate contact with the outer peripheral surface of the rotor 5 and with a side lip 15 slidably brought into intimate contact with the slinger 20. A reinforcement ring 11 includes a sliding tube section 11b located on the outer diameter side from a sliding section S<SB>2</SB>of the side lip 15 in a manner exposed from the rubber-like elastic material. An external seal lip 23 provided on an outer diameter section 22a of the slinger 20 is slidably brought into intimate contact with the outer peripheral surface of the sliding tube section 11b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
