PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a virus-responsive storage device having functions for preventing computer virus infection and appropriately responding to the computer virus infection. SOLUTION: The virus-responsive storage device includes: an infection table means for managing whether or not a file to be stored in a disk is infected with a virus; a table registration means for receiving a detection result of a virus checker which detects whether or not the file to be stored in the disk is infected with the virus and registering the detection result in the infection table means; a determination means for determining whether or not the file is infected with the virus by referring to the infection table means when there is a use request of the file to be stored in the disk from the outside; and a prohibition means for prohibiting use of the file when the determination means determines that the file is infected with the virus.
