PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outdoor unit of an air conditioner capable of easily mounting and demounting a compressor chamber portion front plate. SOLUTION: This outdoor unit of the air conditioner comprises the compressor chamber 6 incorporating a compressor (not shown in drawing), and an outer casing 1a having a blower (not shown in drawing), the outer casing 1a is composed of a top plate 3 disposed on a top surface, a supply opening portion front plate 5 provided with a supply opening 4, the compressor chamber portion front plate 8 having a plurality of locking claws 10 at both side end portions and covering a front portion of the compressor chamber 6, and side plates 9 covering side portions of the compressor chamber 6, a plurality of engagement holes 11 engaged with the locking claws 10 are formed on end portions of the supply opening portion front plate 5 and the side plates 9, and the locking claws 10 are bent roughly into the V-shape, thus the locking claws 10 are engaged with the engagement holes 11 to retain the compressor chamber portion front plate 8 only by fastening the compressor chamber portion front plate 8 to the supply opening portion front plate 5 and the side plates 9 by screws 13 and pressing the locking claws 10, even when the locking claws 10 are disengaged from the engagement holes 11 in mounting the compressor chamber portion front plate 8, thus the compressor chamber portion front plate 8 can be easily mounted.
