PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering shaft support device capable of surely exhibiting a shock absorbing effect of the steering shaft in a collision of a vehicle while reducing a vibration transmitted to a steering wheel. SOLUTION: The steering shaft support device is equipped with a bearing 10 for supporting the steering shaft 3 between a steering column 5 and a steering gear box, a bearing support body 11 having an elastic body 13 which is elastically deformed so that a displacement in the radial direction of the bearing 10 can be allowed, and supporting the bearing 10, and a support shaft 12 which is immovably connected to a vehicle body 16 and supports the bearing support body 11 in a state being movable in the axial direction of the bearing 10.
