A rich media generating system and a control method thereof are provided to generate rich media through replacement media of reproduction-disabled element media even though a part of element media configuring rich media is not reproduced in a terminal. A media server(100) comprises one or more servers storing element media configuring rich media. A rich media terminal(300) stores predetermined media use information. The rich media terminal reproduces the rich media. A media transmitting server generates the rich media through predetermined substitute media instead of the element media according to whether reproduction of the element media is possible based on the media use information.
