METHOD FOR LIMITING MOTOR TORQUE OF HYBRID VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor torque limiting method of a hybrid vehicle for preventing inverse rotation of an engine and damage thereof caused by the inverse rotation in a soft hybrid vehicle with the engine and a motor directly coupled thereon.

SOLUTION: A motor torque limiting method for preventing inverse rotation of an engine of a hybrid vehicle comprises (a) a step of determining a motoring mode or a power generation mode while controlling a motor torque output; (b) a step of comparing a present motor speed with a regenerative torque limiting start speed set in accordance with an engine idling speed in the power generation mode; and (c) a step of limiting the motor torque output by setting, as a torque command value, regenerative maximum torque, the regenerative torque limiting start speed, and a torque value calculated on the basis of the motor speed if the motor speed is 0 or higher and equal to or less than the regenerative torque limiting start speed.
