PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of improving rigidity of a motor mounting plate and reducing noise in operation. SOLUTION: This air conditioner includes a shell 16a having a suction opening 17 at one side, a supply opening 18 and a front plate 6 at the other side, and a main body base 5 at a bottom portion, a heat exchanger 2 opposed to the suction opening 17 and a blower 15 opposed to the supply opening 18 are respectively disposed on the main body base 5, a lower end of the motor mounting plate 1 on which the blower 15 is mounted, is fixed to the main body base 5, one side of an upper end is bent at a right angle to a supply opening 18 side and fixed to an upper portion of the front plate 6, the other side of the upper end is bent at a right angle to an upper outer face side of the heat exchanger 2 to fix the heat exchanger 2, and further a reinforcement plate 7 kept into contact with an inner face of the heat exchanger 2 at an optional height position at its one end, is mounted on the motor mounting plate 1, thus the rigidity of the motor mounting plate 1 is improved, the motor mounting plate is not inclined in transportation, and the vibration and chattering noise in operation of the main body caused by irregularity of a distance between the blower 15 and the heat exchanger 2 caused by the inclination of the motor mounting plate 1 can be suppressed.
