PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle interior lighting system capable of stopping its designed unit and functional unit from being uncoupled even when they are subjected to strong impact, thereby preventing the designed unit from falling off and scattering in a vehicle interior. SOLUTION: The vehicle interior lighting system includes: the designed unit 2 disposed on a lower side of a ceiling plate 5 of a vehicle; and the functional unit 3 disposed on an upper side of the ceiling plate 5 of the vehicle and coupled to the designed unit, wherein a spacer insertion space 39 is provided on an outside of an operation plate 38 of the functional unit 3 and an insertion plate portion 41 of a spacer 4 is inserted into the spacer insertion space 39, thereby preventing disengagement between an engagement hook 26 and an engaged portion 38a due to impact.
