PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate calculation for generating surround sound signals, for example, when multi-channel surround sound signals are generated by using sound signals from sounds collected by four non-directional sound collectors, and to prevent the size of the entire apparatus from increasing. SOLUTION: The image capturing apparatus comprises a first sound collector, a second sound collector disposed behind the first sound collector, a third sound collector, and a fourth sound collector. A line segment connecting the first and the second sound collectors is nearly parallel to a line segment connecting the third and fourth sound collectors. The angle between the line segment connecting the first and second sound collectors and the line segment connecting the first and third sound collectors is nearly equal to the angle between the line segment connecting the first and second sound collectors and the line segment connecting the second and forth sound collectors.
