PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data trace system using PLC sufficiently useful for so-called data logging, for responding a desire for observing the variation of data for a long period in regard to a specific data, and to provide the PLC suitable to the above system. SOLUTION: To each data acquired at predetermined timing, an identification data being specific to the above acquisition timing and having continuity as a whole is added. When a predetermined identification data transmission command is given through communication with a tool device, an up-to-date identification data at that time point is transmitted to the tool device. Further, when a predetermined trace data transmission command is given through the communication with the tool device, an up-to-date trace data at that time point is transmitted to the tool device.
