A controlling and evaluation device (10) is arranged at the motor vehicle for evaluating received signals regarding distance to the two-wheeler driver and for controlling and operating the warning device, when the distance to the two-wheeler driver falls below a predetermined value. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Collision warning system i.e. collision prewarning system (claimed), for avoiding collision of a motor vehicle i.e. car (from drawings), with a two-wheeler driver in a road crossing and a road area. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The controlling and evaluation device is arranged at the motor vehicle for evaluating received signals regarding distance to the two-wheeler driver and for controlling and operating the warning device, when the distance to the two-wheeler driver falls below a predetermined value, so that the driver of the motor vehicle can promptly notice the two-wheeler driver both during daylight and darkness, other bad visibility conditions and also with bending maneuver, even if the two-wheeler driver is provided in the range of the dead angle.
