PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

<p>A plasma display panel comprises a pair of substrates so disposed as to face to each other. A display electrode, a dielectric layer and a protective layer are formed on one of the substrates in this order. The circumferences of the pair of substrates are sealed and joined to each other with a sealing material, whereby an electric discharging space is formed in the joined substrates. The plasma display panel is characterized in that the protective layer is formed in the range including the discharging area on the substrates and a sealing area in which the sealing material is provided, the sealing area has an opening extending from the surfaceof the protective layer to the surface of the dielectric layer, and the sealing material is adhered to the dielectric layer through the opening of the protective layer in the sealing area on the one substrate.</p>
