<p>A manufacturing method of a glass substrate for a magnetic disk by which high circularity can be obtained by eliminating swell of the peripheral end face of the glass substrate in a short working time. The manufacturing method of the glass substrate for the disk-form magnetic disk is characterized by comprising a forming process of forming a peripheral-side end portion by pressing a grindstone to the peripheral end face while rotating the glass substrate and by conducting working by use of a first condition (S106) of forming a first swell and a second condition (S108) of forming a second swell having a different wavelength from that of the first swell in the forming process.</p>
