SYNTHESIS OF GRAPHITE-COATED MAGNETIC NANOPARTICLES BY LASER ABLATION OF METALOCENE-XYLEN SOLUTION

An apparatus and a method for manufacturing magnetic nanoparticles coated with graphite are provided to effectively protect magnetic nanoparticles against external environment by using the laser ablation of a metallocene-xylene solution. A method for manufacturing magnetic nanoparticles coated with graphite comprises the following steps of: dissolving metallocene in an organic solvent, which is a carbon supply source in order to prepare a solution; irradiating a laser to the solution so that metal atoms isolated from the metallocene is bonded with carbon atoms isolated from the organic solvent; and extracting carbon atoms on the surface of metal particles and to coating graphite on the metal particles. The metallocene represents ferrocene, nickelocene or cobaltocene.
