METHOD FOR DETECTING THE ABNORMAL USE OF A SAFETY PROCESSOR

The invention relates to a method for detecting the abnormal use of a safety processor called by at least one reception terminal for controlling the access to a scrambled digital content provided by at least one operator to said reception terminal. The method comprises the following steps: analysing the use of the safety processor for a predetermined monitoring period TObs; determining from said analysis the average value MECM of the number of calls by time unit of said safety processor during said monitoring period TObs; comparing said average value MECM with a predetermined threshold Smax; and if the value MECM is higher than the threshold Smax, applying to said terminal a sanction having a severity level that gradually increases.
