<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that when magnetic stripe information in a card with an IC chip is destroyed, a user is required to visit a teller counter of a financial institution to reissue the card because it is necessary to read the magnetic stripe information in transactions in an automatic teller machine. <P>SOLUTION: When a magnetic stripe of a card cannot be read, a user checks if the card includes a built-in IC chip or not. When the card includes a built-in IC chip, an automatic teller machine is connected to a host computer using information on the IC chip.
