<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To implement security control in accordance with a situation, to the transmission of information from a writing device which writes an image to a display-holding medium (electronic paper) to display it. <P>SOLUTION: A port 3 and an adapter 4 have functions which use not only communication methods which carry out wired communications but also a plurality of wireless communication methods whose communication ranges are different. When a user operates an operation terminal 2 to select a content, a server 1 detects the content ID and transmits the corresponding content data and communication method information to the adapter 4. The adapter 4 writes content images based on the received content data to the electronic paper 5 to display them, changes a communication method according to the received communication method information and informs the user of the communication method by means of an LED lamp or the like.
