GLASS FIBER SIZING AGENT, GLASS FIBER, METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE GLASS FIBER AND GLASS FIBER REINFORCED THERMOPLASTIC RESIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a glass fiber sizing agent which can suppress the discoloration of a thermoplastic resin caused by heat when the thermoplastic resin is molded and even the discoloration of the thermoplastic resin caused by high-temperature heat treatments over a plurality of times applied on the thermoplastic resin after molding; a glass fiber coated with the glass fiber sizing agent, which is used as a reinforcing material of a thermoplastic resin and provides a resin material having stable mechanical strength; a method for producing the glass fiber; and a glass fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin using the glass fiber. SOLUTION: The glass fiber sizing agent contains a pyrophosphate and a non-yellowing polyurethane, wherein the content of the non-yellowing polyurethane is≥50 mass% expressed in terms of solid content. In the glass fiber, the glass fiber sizing agent is applied in a sticking rate of 0.2-0.6 mass%. The method for producing the glass fiber comprises applying the glass fiber sizing agent onto glass filaments drawn out from a bushing, gathering the filaments to make them into a glass strand, and winding the glass strand into a wound article.
