PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a linear motor which reduces the time for assembling an armature by reducing the number of clamping members such as bolts when an armature core block is fixed, and ensures precision of the fixing position. SOLUTION: A first armature unit 10 has a first armature core block 12 produced by laminating a plurality of substantially I-shaped core members 11 with a central hole and having a central through-hole 16. A second armature core block 22 has a substantial I-shape similarly to the first armature core block 12 but has no through-hole. The first armature unit 10 and a second armature unit 20 are arranged alternately, held between a mounting plate (not shown) and a thin coupling plate in the direction of laminating a core member 11 and when they are clamped by means of bolts inserted into the through-holes 16 of the first armature core block 12, the adjoining second armature core block 22 is clamped simultaneously and fixed. Bolts for fixing the second armature core block 22 can be omitted and the assembling time can be reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
