PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain further high speed combustion by reducing cooling loss in a multi-point ignition engine. SOLUTION: First and second electrode retaining members 14, 15 separately constituted are formed on a lower surface of a cylinder head 1 or an upper surface of a cylinder block 2, and are stored in a recess 17 having the combustion chamber 4 side opened.
