PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing apparatus with which the reliability of a product is enhanced by preventing the generation of wrinkles on the top surface of a square neck-in can vessel, and also the time required to manufacture the square neck-in can vessel is reduced, and to provide a method of manufacturing the square neck-in can vessel. SOLUTION: The manufacturing apparatus includes: a rectangular or square external die 100 which has a prescribed depth on a plate surface, and has a containing groove 110 whose peripheral surface is formed inclining; and an internal die 200 having a surface which is in contact with the peripheral surface of the containing groove 110 and is inclined so as to correspond to the peripheral surface, and contained in the containing groove.
