The device has hydraulic balancers (6) provided between two sections of a fixed part (4) and a movable end (5) of legs (3) of a furniture e.g. table (1). The fixed part and the end are interconnected by a common hydraulic circuit. A valve (8) e.g. manual hydraulic valve, connect all branches of the circuit and chambers of the hydraulic balancers in an open position, and impedes flow of hydraulic fluid between the chambers in a closed position. The balancers include hydraulic cylinders (18), which are fastened at the fixed part such that the end is fastened at a shaft (19) of the cylinders.
