AN IMPLICIT GEOMETRIC REGULARIZATION OF BUILDING POLYGON USING LIDAR DATA

A method for geometric normalization of a building polygon is provided to linearize an irregular building boundary gradually by minimizing residual errors and model complexity. A method for geometric normalization of a building polygon includes the following steps of: extracting an initial vector of a building polygon which is acquired from an aviation LiDAR; determining the total number and direction of a building line by classifying the initial vector according to a quantized angle; measuring complexity of a building model by adding a quantized transition moldability value according to a direction of the building line; and measuring a minimum description length value by applying a linearization model hypothesis.
