PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further enhance quake resistance of a BWR by improving its core since a suspicion has been raised that some portions of a nuclear fuel assembly have got out of their normal positions although the quake resistance of the core of the BWR has been proved in the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa nuclear power plant. SOLUTION: In this quake-resistant nuclear fuel assembly 130, a long insertion part 60 is used into which a nuclear fuel support metal insertion part 50 of a conventional nuclear fuel assembly 30 is lengthened. Further, a channel gap belt 61 of a thickness somewhat exceeding the thickness of each control rod 100 is stuck to a channel box 35 of the fuel assembly 30. Semicircular shell springs 62 are stuck to a surface of the gap belt 61 at its two places of the same height. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
